Message From the Principal

Welcome to Morison Memorial School’s web page.  Morison Memorial School is located in the heart of downtown Corinth at 386 Main Street.  Morison Memorial School houses grades three through five and this year has three third grade classrooms, three fourth grade classrooms and four fifth grade classrooms.  Morison also has two Resource Rooms and a therapy room for speech, occupational and physical therapy.  Just this year, Morison School added a literacy interventionist to work with children who need an extra boost in reading and writing.

Morison teachers use the Workshop Model to run their classrooms.  By using this model, students have 90 minutes of reading, 90 minutes of writing and 90 minutes of math each day.  All other subjects (science and social studies) are integrated into the 90-minute blocks.  Children receive music and physical education once each week.

The staff at Morison Memorial School is committed to working together to make your child’s school years special and filled with learning.  This year, we are also a 5-2-1-0 school (That’s 5 fruits and vegetables each day; 2 hours or less of screen time each day; 1 hour or more of physical activity each day and 0 sugary drinks!)  Morison School received a grant to buy snowshoes this year; Mrs. Sue Parker, School Nurse, wrote this grant.  Morison School also received a $10,000 grant from the Stephen and Tabitha King Foundation to set up a new library.

Morison School has an active Parent Booster Group.  The parent group does a fall fundraiser each year, a Santa Shopper project in the winter and a spring fundraiser, too.  The parents are very supportive of our school.  Often, the Boosters purchase needed supplies for teachers and sponsor fun activities for the students.

Thank you for looking at our website!

Sincerely,

Shirley Wright
